How do I get started?

Krav Maga Forsyth offers classes in self-defense  and fitness.  New students will start off in Level 1.  Our Level 1 classes teach new students the basics of Krav Maga, including fighting stances and movement, various punches, kicks from the standing position, elbows and knees, and how to defend against basic attacks. We get students from a variety of backgrounds and fitness levels, so regardless of your experience, you’ll fit right in.

If you’re still hesitant, feel free to stop by. You’ll meet one of our instructors and get a vibe for the atmosphere of our gym.

I signed up for my first Krav Maga self-defense class, what should I expect? How should I prepare?

To prepare for your first Krav Maga class, come hydrated and wearing comfortable clothing.  Try to get a good night’s sleep the night before.  We’ll take care of the rest!

You’ll start with a basic warm-up to get your cardio levels up.  The class is fast-paced, but our encouraging instructors will help you keep up.  If anything is too difficult, feel free to turn it down a notch. The point is for each student to improve at whatever level is best for him or her as an individual.

Below is the class schedule for all new students.


Rules for training at Krav Maga Forsyth:

1. Arrive about 5 - 10 minutes before your class.

2. No sleeveless or cropped shirts.

3. Bottoms must be below knee length.

4. Males need to wear a cup to every class.

5. Mouthpiece is recommended for every class.

6. Jewelry must be removed (plain wedding band is allowed).

7. Long hair must be tied back.

8. Nails must be trimmed.
